CES, A/K/A The Consumer Electronics Show with over 4000 exhibitors, took place again at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV from January 6-9. With an attendance of over 1.23 million people, a 16% increase over last year, it was the place where manufacturers, distributors, retailers and the media gathered to show us what the future in technology goodies has in store for us in 2026 and beyond. It certainly left nothing to the imagination! Here are just a few brief highlights of products shown at the CES Show and expected to be introduced and available in the near future:
Roborock Saros Rover: A robot vacuum cleaner with wheel attached legs that unfold when the robot has to climb stairs. The robot’s design allows it to navigate up and down a staircase while stopping at each step to clean it. It’s designed to tilt, crouch and even hop as needed to avoid any obstacles in its way. Roborock has indicated that the product is not available yet, but is still preparing it for a launch in the near future. Price TBA.
Lockin Veno Pro & V7 Max: Smart locks that do not require you to ever recharge/replace their batteries. Instead of using removable batteries this lock’s design uses Lockin AuraCharge, an external device that you plug in from up to 13’ away. The AuraCharge is a transmitter that shoots an invisible light beam to the smart lock thus continuously powering its battery supply. The Lockin Veno Pro is designed as a deadbolt, whereas the V7 Max is a Mortise lock which is less common in the US market. The Pro model is expected to be released this year with a retail of about $350. The V7 Max has dual cameras and will show you who’s at the door, at an anticipated cost of $1000. Availability probably in early Summer.
Robotin R2: Is a robot carpet cleaner that can wash, scrub and dry carpets autonomously. It features a removable vacuum module that can be replaced with a carpet cleaner thus enabling it to perform both vacuuming and carpet washing in a single operation. It is currently in production with price and availability TBA.
Segway Navimow X4:A robot mower that requires no RTK antenna or boundary wire. It uses a combination of cameras, sensors and LiDAR to navigate. Can handle inclines as steep as 84% (40 degrees). Preorders are now being accepted. $2499 - $2999 depending on coverage area size.
Botslab W101 Window Camera: This unique camera easily mounts on a window without any drilling. Features two 2.5K cameras, an outward and inward one. Great for spotting package delivery. Great for apartments, patio doors, or windows. $50, availability TBA.
IXI’S Autofocusing Lenses: These glasses are designed for farsightedness. Combines cameraless eye tracking with liquid crystal lenses that automatically activate when the glasses detect the user’s focus shifting. This eliminates having two prescriptions since they automatically switch between each prescription. The frames are lightweight and look like a pair of normal glasses. Availability and cost TBA.
WheelMove Wheelchair Attachment: A Portable wheelchair attachment that turns any standard wheelchair into an electric one. A portable attachment allows users independence though this battery-powered, remote controlled attachment. Simply attached to the front of any standard wheelchair the device lifts the wheelchair’s smaller front wheels off the ground. Once attached, the rider controls the movement with a basic remote control. The attachment weighs under 20 lbs that includes its 10” wheel, 250 watt motor and a battery that goes about 15 miles. Naturally, carrying an additional battery(s) can extend the range before needing to be recharged. Made in France it’s expected to be available in the US later this year at around $6000.
