Oh, how nice it would be if we could consolidate the various charging adapters that are needed to keep most of our numerous techie gadgets alive? This would be especially handy when traveling, wouldn’t it? Well, Twelve South Marketing offers just such a device for MAC users.

The PlugBug Duo is an add-on adapter that fits most Apple MacBook laptop computers.

(TIP: Compatibility ~ All Apple USB-C Power Adapter, including 30W   USB-C, 61W USB-C, 87W USB-C. All Apple MagSafe 2 Power Adapters including 45W MagSafe 2 (MacBook Air), 60W MagSafe 2 (MacBook Pro with 13˝ Retina Display, 85W MagSafe 2 (MacBook Pro with Retina Display; All Apple MagSafe Power Adapters, including Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapters for MacBook Air, Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook & 13˝ MacBook Pro, Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter for 15˝ & 17˝ MacBook Pro, Apple 12W USB Power Adapter. Not compatible with Apple Smart Keyboard Folio.)

The PlugBug Duo is designed to snap into the power port of the Apple power adapter where you would normally plug in the power cable, or AC wall plug.

Once attached, it provides connection with your power cord, or any of the five-supplied different snap-on plugs that convert your MacBook Power Adapter into an international power supply.

The included international plug adapters for 150+ countries
USA • UK/Hong Kong/Singapore • Continental Europe Australia/New Zealand • China

At this point you’re ready to travel knowing that you are ready to connect to power and/or charge your computer and devices in over 150 countries. Not only is this the perfect companion for travel, but having the two USB charging ports eliminates that need for such chargers in your home environment, as well. Remember, these two USB ports provide 2.1 amps for fast charging of smartphones, iPads and many other USB charged devices.

Typical application showing ear buds, smartphone and MacBook Charging

I found the PlugBug Duo to work well and satisfy my charging needs both at home and on-the-go. My only wish is that it came with a travel pouch, or at least made it available as an option.
